Bio
An accomplished cultural leader, I’m passionate about future-proofing heritage and arts institutions through creative, strategic frameworks that honour their histories while embracing change. I’m excited about creating cultural experiences that inspire reflection, connection, and leave a lasting impact. Art, regardless of the form it takes, has the power to transform perspectives and remind us of our shared humanity. I strive to lead initiatives and build environments where creativity thrives, audiences are engaged, and meaningful change is possible. Guiding teams and organizations to make these experiences accessible and impactful is both my purpose and my dream.
Guided by empathy and curiosity, I’ve produced exhibitions, events, and talks that explore not only artistic practice but the lived experiences and environments that shape individual voices. Through these programmes, I’ve collaborated with renowned art critics and a diverse range of artists, from blue-chip names to emerging talent.
Over the past decade, I have led initiatives that bridge heritage and contemporary relevance across organisations in the UK and internationally. My work has spanned founding a non-profit, Crit Haven, where I expanded arts access and cross-community collaboration, directing strategic planning for international arts programme, Ellen Frank Illuminated Arts Foundation, and most recently, leading initiatives for the Artists’ General Benevolent Institution (AGBI). At the AGBI, I’ve provided strategic leadership that revitalised a 211-year-old arts charity, reimagining its digital and curatorial identity, expanding outreach, and increasing grant applicants by 67% through a new programme of exhibitions and community engagement. My work has consistently focused on creating accessible, inclusive cultural spaces that balance artistic integrity with financial sustainability.
Known for empathetic, inspiring leadership, I galvanise teams, fostering morale and a shared sense of purpose at every level while ensuring measurable impact, and community engagement remain central.

I had the privilege to work with Abbie at Yale Center for British Art. She is brilliant, deeply creative, and a natural leader who brings out the best in those around her. She has an exceptional ability to assess an institution’s needs and to design thoughtful, effective ways to move initiatives forward. She is also one of the most extraordinary communicators I have encountered. Her intelligence is complemented by a rare combination of humor, warmth, and empathy, which brings a distinctive and inspiring quality to her leadership. - Soyeon Choi, Head of Paper Conservation at Yale Center for British Art
